The RCB team also issued a statement expressing their deep anguish over the incident and emphasizing the importance of safety. Anushka had earlier shared glimpses of the celebrations in Bengaluru, where she was seen with her husband, Virat Kohli, on the RCB parade bus.
Despite the chaos, RCB’s felicitation ceremony continued as planned, with Virat Kohli and captain Rajat Patidar addressing the crowd inside the stadium. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah ordered a magisterial inquiry into the stampede, while RCB and KSCA announced a compensation of ₹25 lakh for the families of the deceased. The incident has sparked criticism and calls for better planning from the government and authorities.
