A stampede outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru during RCB’s title-winning celebrations resulted in at least 11 deaths and nearly 50 injuries. The BCCI clarified that they had no involvement in organizing the event, which attracted thousands of fans to celebrate RCB’s victory in IPL 2025. Despite the tragedy unfolding outside, the celebrations continued inside the packed stadium. IPL Chairman Arun Dhumal expressed sorrow over the incident but emphasized that the BCCI could not be held responsible as they had no control over the situation. Dhumal also noted the absence of IPL officials at the event. Upon learning of the incident, he contacted RCB officials to wrap up the event. BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia acknowledged some lapses and stated that the organization would consider implementing new rules for future victory celebrations.
