Chennai Super Kings has announced Zaheer Khan as their new head coach for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The former India pacer, known for his role in the country’s 2011 World Cup triumph, will take over from Stephen Fleming, who stepped down in July.

Zaheer, who has played 100 matches in the IPL, has transitioned into coaching post his retirement from professional cricket. Fleming, who had been with the Chennai-based franchise for 16 years, won five IPL titles and two Champions League crowns during his tenure.

Expressing his excitement about joining CSK, Zaheer said, “It’s an honour to be a part of one of the most successful teams in the history of the IPL. The atmosphere created by the Superfans at Chepauk make it even more special. I can’t wait to join the legacy franchise with such a rich history.”

CSK managing director Kasi Viswanathan praised Zaheer’s cricketing expertise and mentoring skills, stating, “Zaheer is a world class bowler and has been a mentor to many young cricketers, especially fast bowlers, over the years. He’s one of the finest cricketing brains and we look forward to having him in our family.”

The appointment of Zaheer Khan as head coach marks a new chapter for Chennai Super Kings, with the team gearing up for another thrilling season in the IPL. The franchise and fans are eager to see the impact Zaheer will have on the team’s performance and success in the upcoming matches.
