Shardul Thakur, who went unsold at the 2025 IPL auction, is set to join Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) as a replacement for injured pacer Mohsin Khan. According to a report by Times of India, Shardul will travel with the squad to Visakhapatnam for their opening match against Delhi Capitals. LSG’s pace attack has been struggling with injuries, with key pacers like Avesh Khan, Akash Deep, and Mayank Yadav still recovering at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence. Mayank Yadav, in particular, has faced multiple setbacks during his recovery, including a side strain, hamstring issue, and back injuries. Even if he gets clearance to join the squad, sustaining a full tournament workload will be a challenge. LSG mentor Zaheer Khan acknowledged the uncertainty surrounding the team’s fast-bowling resources and emphasized the need for a flexible approach for the season. He mentioned that the situation is dynamic due to injuries, with some players at the National Cricket Academy and others working with their physios. The team will need to adapt to the changing circumstances throughout the season.
