India all-rounder Shardul Thakur is set to replace injured Mohsin Khan in the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) roster for Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Thakur, who went unsold during the mega auction last year, will join the LSG squad led by Rishabh Pant as an injury replacement.

The Mumbai pacer had already been part of the team’s camp as a net bowler and was recently seen with the squad during a visit to the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s office. Thakur, who has played 95 IPL matches since his debut in 2015, has taken 94 wickets at an economy rate of 9.23. He was a member of the Chennai Super Kings squad during their victorious campaigns in 2018 and 2021.

On the other hand, left-arm pacer Mohsin has been sidelined for several months due to an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury and recently suffered a calf strain during training. This unfortunate turn of events led to the decision to bring in Thakur as his replacement.

Lucknow Super Giants have faced challenges with injuries ahead of the 2025 season, with players like Akash Deep, Avesh Khan, and Mayank Yadav yet to join the squad. Despite these setbacks, the team is gearing up for the upcoming season with Thakur’s inclusion adding depth to their bowling lineup.
