Former India captain Krishnamachari Srikkanth criticized Shahrukh Khan for his lack of consistency in the recent match against Punjab Kings. Shahrukh’s early dismissal for just 4 runs off six balls halted Gujarat Titans’ momentum when they needed a late surge to push their total beyond 180. The Titans eventually ended on 162 for 6, falling short of a competitive total.

Shahrukh has been known as a lower-order finisher in domestic cricket but has struggled to meet expectations in the IPL. In 56 matches since his debut in 2021, he has scored 736 runs at a strike rate of 148.09, showing glimpses of impact but lacking consistent match-winning performances.

Gujarat Titans were well-placed at 114 for 2 in the 14th over but faltered in the middle order, with Shahrukh, Rahul Tewatia, and Rashid Khan failing to capitalize on the platform. Srikkanth criticized the team’s batting order, stating that Shahrukh should not have been sent ahead of Tewatia and Khan.

Gujarat Titans will face Rajasthan Royals next, while Punjab Kings will take on Chennai Super Kings in their upcoming matches.
