Chennai Super Kings suffered a crushing 43-run defeat at the hands of Royal Challengers Bangalore at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. RCB, led by a spectacular innings from Tim David, set a massive target of 251 runs for CSK. However, the Men in Yellow faltered early on, losing four of their top five batsmen for single-digit scores. A late partnership between Prashant Veer and Jamie Overton provided some hope, but it was short-lived. Sarfaraz Khan’s aggressive half-century also went in vain as CSK could only manage 207 runs in their chase.

On the other hand, RCB started slowly but eventually accelerated their run-scoring with impressive performances from Phil Salt, Virat Kohli, Devdutt Padikkal, and Rajat Patidar. Tim David’s unbeaten 70 off just 25 balls took RCB’s total to a formidable 280 runs. The onslaught in the final overs, especially during Overton’s 19th over, where David smashed four sixes, proved to be too much for CSK.

Overall, it was a dominant performance by RCB as they handed CSK their third consecutive loss of the season. The match showcased RCB’s batting prowess and CSK’s struggles to find form. Published on Apr 05, 2026.
