Romario Shephard of Royal Challengers Bengaluru made history on Saturday by scoring a half-century in just 14 deliveries, joining the ranks of the fastest innings in Indian Premier League history. His remarkable feat surpassed the previous record set by Vaibhav Suryavanshi in the 2025 IPL season.
In a high-scoring match against Chennai Super Kings at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Shephard’s explosive innings helped RCB reach a total of 213 runs. The West Indies batter played a crucial role in the team’s final two overs, where he scored 54 runs with the help of four boundaries and six sixes.
Shephard’s performance not only set a new milestone for the fastest fifty in the current IPL season but also added his name to the list of top performers in IPL history. The list of fastest half-centuries in the IPL now includes Yashasvi Jaiswal (RR) with 13 balls, Romario Shepherd (RCB) with 14 balls, KL Rahul (PBKS) with 14 balls, and Pat Cummins (KKR) with 14 balls.
