Delhi Capitals (DC) secured a six-wicket victory over Lucknow Super Giants thanks to a stellar performance from Sameer Rizvi, who scored a crucial half-century. The match took place at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium on Wednesday.

Rizvi’s innings was particularly significant as he came in to bat when DC was struggling at 30/4 after five overs. Despite the early setbacks, DC managed to chase down LSG’s target of 142 runs, with the team that batted second once again emerging victorious.

DC’s decision to bowl first paid off as their bowlers, led by T. Natarajan (3/29) and Lungisani Ngidi (3/27), restricted LSG to a modest total. Key batsmen like Nicholas Pooran, Mitchell Marsh, and Aiden Markram were dismissed cheaply.

In response, LSG got off to a strong start with Mohammed Shami dismissing KL Rahul on the first ball. However, Rizvi and Stubbs formed a crucial partnership to steady the innings before accelerating towards the target. Rizvi remained unbeaten on 72 off 47 balls, while Stubbs scored 39 not out off 32 balls.

With this victory, DC showcased their resilience and ability to perform under pressure. The match highlighted the importance of partnerships and solid bowling performances in T20 cricket. Published on Apr 01, 2026.
