Rishi Sunak, the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, was caught in a moment of wild celebration during the IPL 2025 final between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings. Seated next to ICC chairman Jay Shah, Sunak couldn’t contain his emotions when Prabhsimran Singh was dismissed by Krunal Pandya. Fist pumps and euphoria filled the air as RCB secured their second wicket in defense of 191 runs in Ahmedabad. Sunak had earlier expressed his support for RCB due to his wife’s Bengaluru connections, stating, “RCB is my team.” He also marveled at the electric atmosphere at the Narendra Modi Stadium, calling it an incredible experience. Despite Bengaluru’s struggles to set a competitive total of 190 for nine, luck was not on their side as they failed to capitalize on a conducive surface. Each batsman fell after getting a start, leaving RCB searching for their maiden IPL trophy. Sunak’s passionate support for RCB added an extra layer of excitement to the intense final match.
