During the IPL 2025 final match, Virat Kohli and Krunal Pandya of Royal Challengers Bengaluru celebrated wildly after Punjab Kings skipper Shreyas Iyer, also known as ‘sarpanch’, was dismissed for just 1 run in two balls. This crucial wicket left Punjab at 79/3 while chasing a target of 191 runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The dismissal came in the 10th over when Guyanese all-rounder Romario Shepherd got an outside edge off Iyer’s bat, resulting in a catch by wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma.

Following Iyer’s dismissal, Kohli and Pandya’s jubilant celebrations were captured on camera, with Pandya even appearing to join his hands in gratitude. The wicket was significant as Iyer had recently scored an unbeaten 87-run knock in the previous match. Pandya later dismissed Josh Inglis, further denting Punjab’s innings. In the first innings, RCB set a target of 191 runs with notable contributions from Sharma and Kohli. The bowling attack led by Arshdeep Singh and Kyle Jamieson put up a strong fight for Punjab Kings. The match continued to be intense, with both teams giving their all to emerge victorious in the IPL final.
