Kolkata Knight Riders have announced Rinku Singh as the vice-captain for the upcoming IPL 2026 season. The news was revealed by KKR’s managing director Venky Mysore at a pre-season event. Rinku Singh, 28 years old, will serve as the deputy to Ajinkya Rahane, taking over from Venkatesh Iyer who was bought by Royal Challengers Bengaluru for Rs. 7 crore.
Rinku Singh, who recently won the T20 World Cup in 2026, has been a part of KKR since 2018. He has played 59 matches for the team, scoring 1,099 runs with an average of 30.53. With this new role as vice-captain, Rinku Singh will bring his experience and leadership skills to support Ajinkya Rahane in leading the team.
