Royal Challengers Bangalore received a significant boost as their captain Rajat Patidar returned to training ahead of their upcoming Indian Premier League match against Kolkata Knight Riders. Patidar, who had injured his hand during a previous match, participated in fitness routines and batting drills with some strappings on his right ring finger. Despite not connecting with every ball, his presence back in action was a positive sign for the team.

The RCB coaching staff, including Mo Bobat, Dinesh Karthik, and Andy Flower, closely monitored Patidar’s progress during the training session. In addition to Patidar, Phil Salt and Virat Kohli displayed their hitting prowess, while Mayank Agarwal prepared to fill in for the injured Devdutt Padikkal. Kohli, who recently retired from red-ball cricket, also interacted with KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane.

The team also welcomed back several foreign players, such as Tim David, Romario Shepherd, Jacob Bethell, Liam Livingstone, and Lungi Ngidi. However, the availability of these players for the remainder of the tournament is uncertain due to international commitments. Star pacer Josh Hazlewood’s participation is also in question, as he missed a previous match due to a shoulder injury and has been named in Australia’s squad for the World Test Championship final.

Despite the potential absence of key players, RCB is focused on securing a spot in the playoffs and ultimately reaching the IPL final. The team’s determination and depth will be tested as they aim to continue their strong performance in the tournament.
