Rajasthan Royals, a team in the Indian Premier League, has selected Dasun Shanaka from Sri Lanka to replace the injured English all-rounder Sam Curran for the upcoming IPL 2026 season. Shanaka will be joining RR for INR 2 Crore and has a strong international cricket record, with six Tests, 71 ODIs, and 131 T20Is under his belt, along with over 3350 runs and 86 wickets.

Initially set to play for Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League, Shanaka was recruited by the Royals for the IPL. He has previously played for Gujarat Titans in the IPL as well. Curran, who moved to RR from Chennai Super Kings, unfortunately suffered a groin injury that will keep him out of the upcoming season.
