Vishal Nishad, a mystery spinner signed by Punjab Kings for his debut IPL campaign, is excited to face his idol Virat Kohli. Purchased for ₹30 lakh, he missed out in the first round but was picked up by PBKS in the third round of the auction. A huge fan of Kohli, Nishad wanted jersey number 18, but teammate Priyansh Arya already had it, so he settled for 81 instead. Kohli has had his struggles against spinners in the past, and Nishad is eager to test his skills against the veteran batsman.

Nishad, a relatively unknown player before the auction, caught the eye of PBKS scouts with his impressive performances in the UPT20 League. With the backing of former UP skipper Ankit Rajpoot, Nishad secured a contract with PBKS. The young spinner is looking forward to the challenge of facing Kohli twice in the upcoming season.

Despite facing obstacles and doubts from his family, Nishad remained determined to pursue his cricketing dreams. His journey from a small village in Madraha to the IPL is a testament to his perseverance and passion for the game. Kohli’s RCB will kick off their campaign against Sunrisers Hyderabad, while PBKS will not face them in the initial fixtures.
