Praful Hinge, the 24-year-old pacer from Vidarbha, finally made his IPL debut for Sunrisers Hyderabad after being initially overlooked. His debut turned out to be sensational as he became the first bowler in IPL history to dismiss three batters in the opening over of a match. Hinge took four wickets against the Rajasthan Royals, including Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Dhruv Jurel, and Lhuan-dre Pretorius. His impressive performance earned him the Player of the Match award and helped Sunrisers secure their second win of the season. Hinge’s journey to this point was not easy, as he had battled a lower-back injury that threatened his career. Thanks to the support and training he received at the MRF Pace Foundation in Chennai, Hinge was able to overcome his injury and improve his technique. The foundation’s coach, M Senthilnathan, highlighted Hinge’s strengths in bowling a tight line and length, which was further enhanced by training at the High-Performance Centre in Brisbane. Australian legend Glenn McGrath also played a significant role in mentoring Hinge and helping him develop as a bowler. Hinge’s success is a testament to his hard work and the guidance he received, proving that perseverance pays off in the end.
