Praful Hinge made history by becoming the first bowler to take three wickets in the first over of an IPL match for Sunrisers Hyderabad against Rajasthan Royals. This remarkable feat took place at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
Hinge, who was making his IPL debut, displayed exceptional bowling skills as he dismissed Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Dhruv Jurel, and Lhuan-dre Pretorius in the very first over of Rajasthan Royals’ chase. Initially slated to debut in SRH’s match against Punjab Kings, Hinge was not able to play as he was included in the Impact Player list.
After conceding just a single run from his first delivery, Hinge made his mark by getting Vaibhav Suryavanshi out first ball, caught and bowled. He continued his impressive performance by dismissing Dhruv Jurel two balls later, inducing a chop-on. His third wicket was that of Lhuan-dre Pretorius, who flicked the ball to Nitish Kumar Reddy at deep backward-square.
Before this game, Hinge had only played one T20 match for his state team, Vidarbha. This outstanding performance in the IPL match against Rajasthan Royals showcased his talent and potential as a bowler.
The match took place on April 13, 2026, and will surely be remembered as a memorable moment in Hinge’s cricket career.
