Mumbai: Praful Hinge, a rising talent from Vidarbha, credited physio Naveen Babu from the MRF Pace Foundation for his remarkable performance on his IPL debut. After recovering from a back injury with Babu’s help, Hinge emerged as the highest wicket-taker in the U23 category and earned a spot in the Indian Emerging team. The rehabilitation process involved a team effort, including strength and conditioning, psychology, yoga training, analysis, and coaching.

Under the guidance of MRF head coach M Senthilnathan and former Indian Strength and Conditioning coach Ramji Srinivasan, Hinge refined his bowling action and received valuable insights from ex-India pacer Varun Aaron. Hinge’s impressive triple-wicket over in the IPL showcased his ability to extract seam movement at good lengths, reaching speeds of up to 140.8 kph.

Hinge’s success, along with debutants Sakib Hussain and Eshan Malinga, all products of the MRF academy, highlighted the foundation’s role in nurturing fast bowlers. The Chennai facility continues to play a vital role in developing and rehabilitating bowlers, as seen in Hinge’s journey from injury to IPL success.
