During the IPL Qualifier 2 in Ahmedabad, Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians captains Shreyas Iyer and Hardik Pandya were fined for their teams’ slow over-rate. Shreyas was fined Rs 24 lakh, while Hardik was docked Rs 30 lakh.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) stated that this was Shreyas’ team’s second offense of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct related to minimum over-rate offenses. As a result, he was fined INR 24 lakhs. Hardik Pandya, on the other hand, was fined for his team’s third offense of the season under the same code of conduct, amounting to INR 30 lakhs.

Additionally, the other members of the PBKS playing XI were also fined either Rs 6 lakh or 25% of their match fees, whichever is lesser. Similarly, MI players were penalized Rs 12 lakh or 50% of their match fees.

In the match, Shreyas played a crucial role by scoring an unbeaten 87 runs, leading Punjab Kings to a five-wicket victory over Mumbai Indians. This win secured Punjab Kings a spot in the final for the first time since 2014. They are set to face Royal Challengers Bangalore in the summit clash on Tuesday.
