The IPL 2025 match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals on May 8 at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium in Dharamsala will proceed as planned despite heightened tensions following India’s military strikes across the Line of Control. Both teams are already in Dharamsala, but there is uncertainty surrounding the May 11 fixture between Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians at the same venue. The HPCA has been instructed to prepare for the match, but official confirmation from the BCCI or local authorities is still pending.

The situation remains fluid after India’s armed forces launched ‘Operation Sindoor’ on May 7, targeting nine terrorist sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in response to the April 22 mass shooting in Pahalgam’s Baisaran Valley that claimed 26 lives. As a security measure, multiple airports in northern India, including Leh, Srinagar, Jammu, Dharamsala, Amritsar, and Chandigarh, have been closed until May 10, leading to the suspension of civilian air travel to and from Dharamsala.

Punjab Kings had relocated to Dharamsala for three home matches this season, with the match against Lucknow Super Giants on May 3 resulting in a victory. The match against Delhi Capitals on May 8 is set to proceed, while the match against Mumbai Indians on May 11 is awaiting official confirmation amidst the current uncertainties.
