In 2024, Nitish Kumar Reddy had a remarkable year, making his IPL debut for Sunrisers Hyderabad and earning a spot in the Indian T20I team. His highlight came during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy where he received his Test cap and scored his maiden Test century, all under the mentorship of coach Gautam Gambhir. One of the most memorable moments for Nitish was sharing the dressing room with his idol, Virat Kohli, during the Australia tour.
Despite their close connection, Nitish still feels nervous in Kohli’s presence, describing it as an awe-inspiring sensation. He recalled receiving his Test cap from Kohli in Perth and shared a special moment when he sneaked a selfie with the legendary cricketer at an awards show.
Although India faced a 3-1 defeat in Australia, Nitish stood out with his exceptional performances, including a century at the MCG. Now focusing on the upcoming IPL season with SRH, Nitish aims to build on his success and help his team go even further after being retained for the 2025 season. SRH’s campaign kicks off with a home match against RR on Sunday.
