Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s incredible performance on Friday left spectators in complete awe. He smashed a 15-ball half-century against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, matching his own record for the joint second-fastest fifty set earlier in the season against Chennai Super Kings. His explosive innings led Rajasthan to score 97 runs in the first six overs, their best PowerPlay total of the season.
Suryavanshi’s innings came to an end at 78 off 26 balls when he was caught at long-on while attempting to hit another boundary off Krunal Pandya. Despite his dismissal, he managed to claim the top spot in the Orange Cap standings with 200 runs from just four innings.
After the match, former India captain Virat Kohli was seen congratulating Suryavanshi. It was later revealed that Kohli had signed Suryavanshi’s cap with a note that read: “Dear Vaibhav, well done.” This gesture from the batting legend left Suryavanshi with a priceless piece of memorabilia that he will likely cherish for the rest of his life.
The match ended in victory for the Royals, who won by six wickets. Suryavanshi’s outstanding performance and the recognition he received from Kohli made it a memorable night for the young cricketer. Published on Apr 11, 2026.
