Kolkata Knight Riders fast bowler Kartik Tyagi delivered two over-the-waist no balls in the final over of Lucknow Super Giants’ innings, but was allowed to continue bowling. According to MCC playing conditions, a bowler cannot bowl two beamers in a single over.
Guideline 41.7.3 states that if the umpire deems a non-pitching delivery to be dangerous, they must give a first and final warning to the bowler. The umpire must also inform the other umpire, the fielding team’s captain, and the batters.
If the same bowler delivers another dangerous delivery in that innings, guideline 41.7.4 states that the umpire must call a no-ball, suspend the bowler from bowling, and inform the other umpire. However, Tyagi was allowed to continue bowling despite the two full tosses in the final over. The umpires determined that the second full toss was not dangerous as it was away from the batter’s body.
Tyagi ended up conceding 16 runs in the over, leading to a tie in the match. The incident occurred on April 27, 2026.
