Royal Challengers Bangalore is set to compete in the IPL 2026 Final against Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on May 31. The team is aiming to secure its second consecutive IPL trophy, a feat achieved only by Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings in the past.
If Royal Challengers Bangalore emerges victorious in the final, it will join the elite group of franchises that have won back-to-back IPL titles in consecutive years. The most recent team to achieve this was Mumbai Indians, who defeated Chennai Super Kings in the 2019 final by just one run, followed by a win against Delhi Capitals in the 2020 final by five wickets.
Chennai Super Kings had also clinched consecutive IPL titles in 2010 and 2011, first triumphing over Mumbai Indians by 22 runs in the final before defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore by 58 runs in the following year’s final.
On the other hand, Gujarat Titans, Royal Challengers Bangalore’s opponent in the upcoming final, came close to achieving this remarkable feat in 2023 after winning the title in 2022.
The IPL 2026 Final promises to be a thrilling encounter as Royal Challengers Bangalore seeks to etch its name in history as the third franchise to win back-to-back IPL trophies. The match is scheduled to take place on May 31 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Published on May 31, 2026.
