Rajasthan Royals have brought in South Africa’s Lhuan-dre Pretorius as a replacement for Nitish Rana for the rest of the IPL 2025 season. Rana, a left-handed batsman, played 11 games for RR this season, scoring 217 runs with two half-centuries before sustaining a calf injury.
Pretorius, a 31-year-old left-handed opening batsman and wicketkeeper, has featured in 33 T20 matches, amassing 911 runs with a top score of 97. He joins RR for his base price of INR 30 lakh.
The official announcement was made on Twitter by Rajasthan Royals, welcoming Pretorius to the team as he steps in for Rana, who is currently recovering from his injury. The team expressed their excitement to have the fearless and power-packed Pretorius don the Pink jersey in IPL 2025.
The addition of Pretorius will provide RR with a strong option at the top of the order and behind the stumps. Fans are eager to see how he will contribute to the team’s performance in the remaining matches of the season.
