Dhoni, who underwent knee surgery in 2023, has been dealing with fitness issues, with CSK’s head coach admitting that he can’t bat for 10 overs at full intensity.
After CSK’s two-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Dhoni expressed gratitude for the love and affection he receives from fans. He mentioned that he will need to work hard for another 6-8 months after the IPL to see if his body can handle the pressure. Despite a disappointing season for CSK, Dhoni emphasized the importance of testing bench strength and finding the right combinations for the team.
As for KKR, their defeat leaves them with slim hopes of qualifying for the playoffs. Captain Ajinkya Rahane stated that they now need to win their remaining two matches to have a chance at qualification.
