Gujarat Titans, led by captain Shubman Gill, is gearing up for the IPL 2026 season with a strong core team. The team has retained most of its squad and made strategic additions during the mini-auction. They will kick off their campaign against Punjab Kings on March 31.

One key focus for Gujarat Titans is their top-heavy batting lineup, with Shubman Gill, Sai Sudharsan, and Jos Buttler forming a formidable top three in IPL 2025. The trio averaged a combined 55.05, driving the team’s batting performance. However, this heavy reliance on the top order left the middle and lower order with limited opportunities to contribute, exposing the team in crucial matches.

Another area of concern for the Titans is their fielding, as they dropped the most catches in IPL 2025, totaling 28 in 15 matches. This proved costly in important games, such as the Eliminator against Mumbai Indians, where dropped catches allowed the opposition to capitalize and secure a win.

To address these issues, Gujarat Titans have brought in all-rounder Jason Holder, known for his effectiveness in the death overs in T20Is. Holder’s ability to contribute with both bat and ball could provide the team with much-needed balance and strengthen their overall performance.

Head coach Ashish Nehra will lead a squad that includes players like Shahrukh Khan, Jos Buttler, Rashid Khan, and Kagiso Rabada. With a focus on improving their batting depth, fielding standards, and adding a new all-round edge, Gujarat Titans are looking to make a strong impact in the upcoming IPL season.
