Arun Dhumal and Khairul Jamal Majumdar have been officially nominated for the positions in the IPL Governing Council and are poised to be elected unopposed at the BCCI AGM on September 18th. Both candidates, Dhumal who is running for re-election as IPL chairman and Majumdar, the representative from the Indian Cricketers’ Association, have no competition for the roles.

The Hyderabad Cricket Association is notably absent from the list of nominees for the BCCI AGM, but sources indicate that HCA president Jeevan Reddy may still attend the meeting, even if not participating in the election process. The final list of valid nominations was confirmed after scrutiny by BCCI electoral officer A.K.Joti, with both Dhumal and Majumdar successfully passing the nomination stage.

Their uncontested election will ensure stability in the IPL Governing Council, responsible for overseeing the league’s administration and major policy decisions. The official announcement of their election is expected at the AGM on September 18th.
