Yuzvendra Chahal, the Punjab Kings spinner, received a special gift from Chennai Super Kings skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who gave him his bat. Chahal was thrilled with the gift but was trolled by his teammate Glenn Maxwell in the dressing room. Maxwell jokingly pointed out that Chahal usually gets subbed out while batting to make way for a specialist batter.
Despite the teasing, Chahal has been in good form in the IPL, claiming nine wickets in as many matches. He has been instrumental in helping the Punjab Kings’ openers with valuable advice on tackling opposition spinners. Both Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya credited Chahal for his guidance, which helped them perform well in their matches.
Chahal’s form has improved in the second half of the season, and he is expected to play a crucial role in the upcoming match against Chennai Super Kings. His experience and knowledge of the game have been invaluable to the Punjab Kings squad, and his contributions have not gone unnoticed by his teammates.
