The 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will be celebrated with special ceremonies at all 13 venues to mark the milestone of the world’s premier franchise tournament. The festivities will begin with a grand opening ceremony at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata on March 22, featuring Bollywood stars and music celebrities.

Each venue will kick off their first match with a cultural program, showcasing both national and local artists to add more excitement to the tournament. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is currently in talks with various artists to finalize the line-up for these events.

Renowned singer Shreya Ghosal and actress Disha Patani are set to headline the opening ceremony in Kolkata, which will be attended by Jay Shah, the chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC), and other dignitaries. The BCCI aims to have a diverse range of Bollywood artists performing at all the venues throughout the season.

In addition to the traditional venues, matches will also be played in Guwahati, Visakhapatnam, Dharamshala, and Mullanpur this season, with Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals, and Punjab Kings selecting them as their ‘second’ home venues. The BCCI and state associations are working together to ensure that the ceremonies run smoothly without disrupting the matches.

The celebrations for the IPL’s 18th anniversary promise to bring a new level of excitement and entertainment for fans across the country.
