The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is cracking down on unauthorized access in team hotels and playing fields after multiple protocol violations by IPL franchise owners, officials, and players. BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia stated that unapproved individuals have been spotted in restricted areas, prompting the issuance of new guidelines to all IPL franchises. The CEO of IPL will meet with team CEOs to ensure compliance with the updated protocols. Some franchise representatives have refused to show accreditation to ACSU officials, raising concerns about potential violations in the future. Incidents involving Rajasthan Royals’ Riyan Parag and Punjab Kings’ Yuzvendra Chahal engaging in unauthorized activities have caught the BCCI’s attention. Additionally, the decision to move this year’s IPL final from Bengaluru to Ahmedabad was made due to excessive demands for complimentary tickets from the Karnataka State Cricket Association. The move to Ahmedabad was deemed necessary to accommodate the high demand for tickets and avoid the disproportionate requests from the KSCA.
