The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced four new rules for the IPL 2025 season following a meeting with captains, coaches, and managers. The first update allows bowlers to use saliva to shine the ball, reverting to traditional practices after the COVID-19 ban. Secondly, teams bowling second can request a ball change after the 10th over to combat dew in evening matches. A new Code of Conduct with demerit points and suspension points valid for 36 months will be enforced. Additionally, the Decision Review System (DRS) will now include height-based no-ball and wide-ball reviews using Hawk-Eye technology for more accurate decisions. These changes aim to improve the game and address challenges faced during matches. The updates were made based on feedback from all 10 IPL teams and are set to enhance the overall playing experience for players and fans alike in the upcoming season.
