Despite the controversy, Gill and the Gujarat Titans went on to defeat SunRisers Hyderabad by 38 runs. Gill and Jos Buttler’s half-centuries helped Gujarat Titans post a total of 224/6. Sharma scored 74 runs for SunRisers but they fell short in the chase. With this win, Gujarat Titans moved to the second spot in the points table, while SunRisers Hyderabad faced another setback in their quest for the playoffs. This was not the first time Gill was involved in a dispute with officials during the season.
