RCB pacer Yash Dayal will not be part of the team for the upcoming IPL 2026 season, confirmed franchise director Mo Bobat during a press conference. The decision was attributed to a personal matter, although Dayal remains under contract with the team. Speculation arose when Dayal was absent from RCB’s promotional material, with reports linking the situation to legal cases involving the cricketer.

Allegations of sexual exploitation under the pretext of marriage have been made against Dayal in cases registered in Ghaziabad and Jaipur. While the Allahabad High Court has granted him protection from arrest in the Ghaziabad case, the Rajasthan High Court has denied him relief in the Jaipur case due to the seriousness of the allegations under the POCSO Act.

Dayal was also barred from participating in the UP T20 League last year following the emergence of the second case. Despite joining RCB for INR 5 crore in 2024 and playing a crucial role in their title-winning campaign, Dayal’s future with the team remains uncertain due to the ongoing legal issues.
