As Chennai Super Kings (CSK) get ready to face Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at Chepauk today, all eyes are on MS Dhoni, who has been sidelined this season due to a calf injury. Despite a recent video showing Dhoni practicing in the nets, batting coach Michael Hussey has cautioned that he is not yet match-fit. Dhoni has not traveled with the team for away games and has avoided the dugout during home matches to avoid distractions.
With only four league games left, the possibility of Dhoni’s farewell game is diminishing. Ravichandran Ashwin has suggested that Dhoni may only return if CSK’s playoff chances become dire.
Lucknow also faces fitness concerns with Josh Inglis, Mohsin Khan, and Avesh Khan nursing injuries. Captain Rishabh Pant is looking for stability in a squad that has struggled for consistency and is currently at the bottom of the IPL points table.
The probable playing 12s for CSK vs LSG are as follows:
CSK: Sanju Samson, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Urvil Patel, Kartik Sharma, Dewald Brevis, Shivam Dube, Jamie Overton, Akeal Hosein, Anshul Kamboj, Noor Ahmed, Mukesh Choudhary, Gurjapneet Singh
LSG: Mitchell Marsh, Josh Inglis/Arshin Kulkarni, Nicholas Pooran, Rishabh Pant, Aiden Markram, Akshat Raghuwanshi, Himmat Singh, Shahbaz Ahmed, Mohammed Shami, Prince Yadav, Mohsin Khan/Mayank Yadav, Digvesh Rathi.
