Virat Kohli has been vocal about his disapproval of the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s Impact Player rule in the Indian Premier League since its introduction in 2023. Despite peers like Rohit Sharma embracing the role, Kohli made it clear within the Royal Challengers Bengaluru camp that he would rather quit cricket than play as an Impact Player.

However, during a recent match against Lucknow Super Giants, a half-fit Kohli was named as an Impact Player for RCB. Despite his physical limitations, Kohli played a crucial innings, scoring 49 runs to lead his team to a five-wicket victory and the top of the table.

Former RCB teammate Swastik Chikara revealed Kohli’s strong stance against the rule, stating that Kohli would only play if fully fit and not as an Impact Player.

Kohli’s performance against Lucknow Super Giants, despite not being fully fit, showcased his determination and skill. Despite admitting to not being at his best physically, Kohli was satisfied with his performance and approach in the match.

Overall, Kohli’s resilience and talent were on full display as he led RCB to a crucial victory, proving his worth as a top player in the IPL.
