Sunrisers Hyderabad’s head coach, Daniel Vettori, announced on Sunday that opener Travis Head had tested positive for Covid-19 and would be arriving in India on Monday morning, just hours before the team’s match against Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League.

Vettori informed reporters during a press conference that Head’s travel had been delayed due to his Covid-19 diagnosis, and the team would assess his condition upon his arrival.

The Australian batsman has struggled this season, only scoring 281 runs so far, despite being known for his powerful batting.

With SRH already out of contention for the Playoffs, they have three matches remaining in the IPL 2025 season. Currently, they are in eighth place on the points table after playing 11 matches.

The tournament resumed after a brief hiatus caused by border tensions between India and Pakistan. The competition restarted on May 17 with a match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders, which unfortunately was washed out due to rain.
