Vaibhav Suryavanshi, at just 14 years and 23 days old, made history by becoming the youngest player to ever participate in the Indian Premier League. He took the field for the Rajasthan Royals in a match against the Lucknow Super Giants in Jaipur. Despite his young age, Suryavanshi was chosen to replace Sanju Samson and was included in the Impact subs list for the Royals.
The talented youngster was signed by the Rajasthan Royals for a whopping Rs. 1.10 crore in the IPL 2025 auction. Hailing from Samastipur, Suryavanshi had already made waves in the cricketing world with his exceptional skills. He made his debut in the Ranji Trophy at just 12 years and 284 days, setting a new record as the youngest player in the tournament’s history.
Suryavanshi continued to impress during the Youth Test series against Australia in Chennai, where he scored a remarkable 104 runs off just 62 balls. At the age of 13 years and 188 days, he became the youngest centurion in competitive cricket’s 170-year history and also set a record for the fastest century by an Indian at the youth level.
In the history of IPL, Suryavanshi now holds the title of the youngest debutant at just 14 years old. He joins a list of talented young players who have made their mark in the IPL, including Prayas Ray Barman, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Riyan Parag, and Sarfaraz Khan.
Suryavanshi’s incredible achievements at such a young age have already set him apart as a rising star in the world of cricket, and his future looks bright as he continues to make history on the field.
