A remarkable 14-year-old cricketer from Samastipur, Bihar, named Vaibhav Suryavanshi, made headlines during a recent IPL match in Jaipur. He smashed 11 sixes and seven boundaries in his 38-ball 101, breaking Yusuf Pathan’s 15-year-old record for the fastest IPL century by an Indian. Pathan, who had achieved the feat while playing for the Rajasthan Royals in 2010, congratulated Vaibhav on his remarkable achievement, calling it “magical” and praising the franchise for nurturing young talent.
Chasing a target of 210, the Royals reached the target in just 15.5 overs, thanks to Vaibhav’s explosive innings. He became the youngest-ever batter to score a century in T20 cricket, surpassing Vijay Zol’s record. Vaibhav displayed no fear while facing top bowlers like Rashid Khan and Ishant Sharma, stating that he simply focuses on playing and seeing the ball.
After being dismissed by Prasidh Krishna, Vaibhav received a standing ovation from the crowd and his team. He described the experience of scoring a century in the IPL as a dream come true, emphasizing his joy and gratitude for the opportunity. This extraordinary performance not only secured a victory for the Rajasthan Royals but also showcased Vaibhav’s immense talent and potential in the world of cricket.
