Rajasthan Royals batting coach Vikram Rathour provided a positive update on the injury status of young opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. Sooryavanshi had to leave the field during the IPL 2026 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad after scoring a quick hundred due to a hamstring issue. Rathour mentioned that Sooryavanshi is feeling better after receiving treatment and it doesn’t seem to be a serious injury.

Despite Sooryavanshi’s impressive performance, the Royals suffered a defeat to SRH. Rathour acknowledged that the team’s fielding was subpar, with several dropped catches and easy boundaries given away.

The coach admitted that the poor fielding ultimately cost them the game and emphasized the importance of not giving opportunities to strong opponents. He also noted that apart from Jofra Archer, the bowlers failed to execute their plans effectively.

Rathour highlighted Archer’s exceptional bowling performance but pointed out that the rest of the bowling unit struggled to deliver as per the team’s strategies. The coach concluded by stating that they need to improve their execution in future matches.
