Despite being eliminated from the playoffs race in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Mumbai Indians are staying positive and focusing on finishing their remaining matches. Ahead of their match against Kolkata Knight Riders, Naman Dhir emphasized the team’s culture of playing for the fans and always striving for victory. He acknowledged that KKR will have better plans this time, but still sees Mumbai Indians as the favorites.
Dhir pointed out that injuries to key players like Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, and Quinton de Kock were major setbacks for the team this season. He expressed regret for not being able to deliver a trophy to the fans and attributed the team’s inconsistent performances to the absence of these players in crucial matches.
Despite playing under three different captains – Hardik, Surya, and Bumrah – Dhir did not view it as a distraction. He enjoyed the experience of playing under each captain and appreciated their different tactics. Overall, Mumbai Indians are determined to give their best in the remaining matches and make their fans proud.
