India pacer Jaydev Unadkat has expressed his thoughts on Sunrisers Hyderabad’s disappointing performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) this season. He attributed their struggles to ineffective bowling and changing pitch conditions. After a 38-run loss to Gujarat Titans, SRH is on the brink of elimination from the Playoffs race. Unadkat emphasized the importance of having multiple bowlers contribute consistently in every game for a team to succeed. However, he acknowledged that SRH has been lacking in this department, putting pressure on the entire bowling unit.

Despite starting the season strongly with a massive score of 286/6 against Rajasthan Royals, SRH has failed to maintain their momentum. Unadkat highlighted the need for bowlers to adapt to new strategies and variations due to challenging pitch conditions this year. He also mentioned that fielding and bowling errors cost SRH in their recent match against GT. The team’s inability to capitalize on opportunities in both bowling and batting ultimately led to their defeat.

Gujarat Titans’ Gerald Coetzee praised his team’s top-order batsmen for their consistent performances, attributing their success to playing smart cricket shots rather than relying on slogging. SRH’s struggles have raised concerns about their chances of making it to the Playoffs this season. With just three wins and seven losses in 10 games, the team needs to address their bowling issues and improve their overall performance to stay in contention.
