Former India cricketer Kris Srikkanth has advised Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni to accept his struggles and consider walking away from the IPL if he feels he can no longer meet the franchise’s expectations. Srikkanth’s remarks came after Chennai’s 10th loss in the current season, putting them on the brink of finishing with the wooden spoon for the first time in IPL history.

Dhoni has faced difficulties with the bat this season, apart from a standout 26-run performance against Lucknow Super Giants. Srikkanth, on his YouTube channel, urged Dhoni to acknowledge the harsh reality and make a decision about his future given his fitness struggles impacting his reflexes.

The former cricketer emphasized that Dhoni’s decline in performance has had a significant impact on Chennai’s overall performance. Srikkanth highlighted Dhoni’s struggles against spinners and his inability to replicate his past successes.

Chennai, already out of the playoffs race, will play their final game against the Gujarat Titans on May 25 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Srikkanth’s advice to Dhoni comes amidst growing concerns about the veteran player’s form and fitness in the IPL.
