Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has made a strategic move by selecting RS Ambrish as an injury replacement for Shivam Mavi for the remaining matches of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. Mavi, a talented right-arm medium pacer, has unfortunately been sidelined due to a groin injury.

RS Ambrish, an all-rounder, was a key player in the Indian squad that emerged victorious in the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2026. His impressive performance in the tournament saw him finish as India U-19’s joint-highest wicket-taker with 11 wickets to his credit. Ambrish, who excels as a right-arm medium pacer and a left-handed batter, will now join forces with Pat Cummins and the rest of the team for a fee of Rs. 30 lakh.

This strategic replacement not only strengthens the SRH squad but also provides Ambrish with a valuable opportunity to showcase his skills on a bigger platform. The decision to bring in the young talent reflects the team’s commitment to nurturing and promoting promising players.

The move comes as a boost for SRH as they aim to secure a strong finish in the ongoing IPL season. Ambrish’s inclusion is expected to bring a fresh dynamic to the team’s lineup and offer additional depth to their bowling and batting capabilities.
