Harbhajan Singh, former India off-spinner, has criticized the lack of aggression and attacking mindset among spinners in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He believes that spin bowlers are focusing too much on containment rather than taking wickets, which is detrimental to the art of spin bowling. Harbhajan emphasized the need for spinners to be more brave, take chances, and spin the ball instead of bowling like fast bowlers.

With T20 pitches favoring batsmen, spinners have struggled to make an impact, even world-class spinners like Rashid Khan. Harbhajan welcomed the decision to allow the use of saliva to shine the ball in the upcoming season, stating that it will benefit both pacers and spinners.

Harbhajan also expressed high expectations for young players like Riyan Parag, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, and Abhishek Sharma, whom he believes are the future of Indian cricket. He also mentioned bowlers to watch out for in IPL 2025, including Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana, and Varun Chakravarthy. Harbhajan is hopeful that these young talents will bring a fresh perspective and energy to the league.
