The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is set to pay a special tribute to the Indian Armed Forces during the closing ceremony of IPL 2025 at the Narendra Modi Stadium on June 3. This decision comes in light of the successful Operation Sindoor, where the Indian Armed Forces destroyed terrorist camps in Pakistan and PoK. BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed the tribute, expressing gratitude for the bravery and service of the armed forces.

Invitations have been extended to top military officials for the ceremony, which is expected to include performances by military bands and prominent singers. The IPL 2025 season had faced a temporary suspension due to escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, but resumed after a ceasefire. The BCCI had previously honored the Armed Forces in 2019 and pledged financial support after the Pulwama terror attack.

As for the IPL 2025 playoffs, Punjab Kings have secured a spot in Qualifier 1, while the Royal Challengers Bangalore will face Lucknow Super Kings to determine their opponent. The closing ceremony aims to be a fitting tribute to the Armed Forces for their sacrifices and service.
