The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the schedule for the IPL 2026 playoffs, with the final being shifted from Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium to the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The playoffs will kick off at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala on May 26, followed by the Eliminator at the New International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh on May 27. Qualifier 2 will also take place at the same venue on May 29. The season-ending finale is scheduled for May 31 in Ahmedabad. The decision to move the final out of Bengaluru was due to operational and logistical considerations, as stated in an IPL media release. The BCCI secretary cited requirements from local associations and authorities beyond the BCCI’s guidelines as the primary reason for the venue change. Political factors and issues with MLA tickets in Bengaluru also influenced the decision. The defending champions’ convention of hosting the final faced hurdles, leading to the final being relocated to Ahmedabad.
