Chennai Super Kings’ Sanju Samson made history in the Indian Premier League (IPL) by becoming the fastest Indian batter to reach 5000 runs. During a match against Gujarat Titans, Samson achieved this milestone in just 3555 balls, making him the third-fastest overall after AB de Villiers and David Warner. He surpassed the likes of Suresh Raina, KL Rahul, and MS Dhoni in reaching this feat. However, his innings was short-lived as he was dismissed by Kagiso Rabada after scoring just 11 runs. This came after Samson’s recent century against Mumbai Indians, marking his second century of the season. With a total of 298 runs in eight matches for CSK this season, Samson has been in fine form with a batting average of 59.60 and a strike rate of 172.2. This remarkable performance also took his career T20 tally to eight centuries, making him one of the top Indian batters in the league.
