Sanju Samson once again proved his worth for Chennai Super Kings after being traded from Rajasthan Royals. In a spectacular inning against Mumbai Indians, Samson scored an unbeaten 101 off 54 balls, helping CSK reach 207/6 in 20 overs. This was his second century of the season, with his first being an unbeaten 115 against Delhi Capitals. Despite facing criticism for inconsistency, Samson silenced his critics with his aggressive batting at the Wankhede Stadium, hitting 10 fours and six sixes at a strike rate of 184.04.

Former players Aakash Chopra, Irfan Pathan, and Shikhar Dhawan praised Samson for his exceptional performance. Chopra highlighted that Samson is the first player to score two centuries for CSK in a single season. Pathan lauded Samson for his peak performance, while Dhawan commended his composure and timing.

After a slow start to the season, Samson’s back-to-back centuries showcase his form and determination. His ability to score against both pace and spin bowling was evident in the match, where he scored 83 off 40 balls against pacers and 18 off 14 deliveries against spinners. This season marks the first time in his career that Samson has scored two centuries in a single IPL season.
