Ryan Rickelton made history by scoring the fastest century in Mumbai Indians’ history during their IPL 2026 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. The South African left-hander reached the milestone in just 44 deliveries, surpassing the previous record held by Sanath Jayasuriya. Rickelton, who replaced Quinton de Kock due to injury, dominated the SRH attack from the start. His innings of 123 off 55 balls also set a new record for the highest individual score by a Mumbai Indians player, surpassing Jayasuriya’s 114*. Rickelton’s knock, filled with 10 fours and eight sixes, helped Mumbai Indians post their highest-ever total of 243/5 at the Wankhede Stadium. Opening alongside Will Jacks, Rickelton set the tone with a 93-run partnership in just seven overs. This performance makes Rickelton the third Mumbai Indians player to score a century in the 2026 season, joining Tilak Varma and Quinton de Kock in a successful year for the team’s top order.
